Hearts began in 1985 with two school horses and a handful of riders. Today over 50 riders come weekly to ride our wonderful horses. Our scenic ocean-view center is conveniently located between Turnpike and El Sueno roads, directly off Calle Real in Santa Barbara. (click here for map) We are accredited by the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA), and have been recognized by them as a "Premiere Center." Our instructors are NARHA certified and must adhere to strict guidelines with regard to lesson planning and safety. Instructors coordinate with therapists, staff and parents as appropriate, to ensure that riding goals reinforce other forms of therapy.

Volunteers are the "heart" of our program, and there is always room for help around the corrals, sidewalking and leading horses in lessons, office assistance, grounds maintenance, and more!
